Terms and Conditions

Acceptance of these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Stick Math, referred to here as "we" or "us", covering your use of the Stick Math app and this website. By downloading, installing, or playing Stick Math, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

The service

Stick Math is a puzzle game where you move a matchstick to turn a wrong equation into a correct one. The app has not yet launched publicly. Some features described on this site, including multiplayer, points, streaks, and favorites, are part of the app as built, but availability, pricing, and any future paid features may change before or after launch, and we'll update this page if that happens.

Eligibility

Stick Math is intended for people 13 and over. If you're under the age required by your country to agree to terms like these on your own, a parent or guardian needs to agree on your behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us through the contact form and we'll remove it.

Accounts

You can play as a guest with no account, or sign in with Google, Sign in with Apple, or an email address and password. Signing in enables cloud sync, so your progress carries over between devices, and enables multiplayer.

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for anything that happens through your account. Tell us if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission. See our Privacy Policy for how account and sync data are handled, and for how to request deletion of your account.

Points, hints, and progress

Points, streaks, favorites, and level progress are in-app systems with no monetary value. They can't be exchanged for cash, transferred to another player, or redeemed outside the app. We can adjust balances, reset progress, or change how points are earned or spent, including to correct an error or address abuse.

A puzzle offers two kinds of help. A hint narrows down where to look and is bought with points. Revealing the answer solves the puzzle for you and, when that feature ships, will be unlocked by watching a short video rather than by spending points. Revealing an answer earns no completion points and doesn't count toward your daily streak. Prices, and how each kind of help is unlocked, can change as the game is balanced.

The app previously offered a second, stronger hint that showed the exact matchstick to move and where to put it. That second hint was removed on September 2, 2026, so there is now a single hint per puzzle. Any points you had already spent on it are unaffected.

The app doesn't currently require any purchase to play, and it does not currently show advertising of any kind. If optional paid features or advertising are introduced later, their own terms will be presented at the time, our Privacy Policy will be updated before any advertising appears, and this page will be updated to reflect them.

Multiplayer conduct

Multiplayer rooms are shared spaces with other players you've invited or been invited by. When you join a room, your display name and your results in that room's rounds are visible to its other members, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Don't try to manipulate round timing, exploit the game to gain an unfair advantage, or use a display name that's abusive, impersonates someone else, or is otherwise inappropriate. We can remove a player from a room, or suspend an account, for behavior that violates this.

Your content

The app collects very little that counts as content you create. Your player display name and any multiplayer room name you choose are visible to other players as described above. Don't use either to impersonate someone, infringe someone else's rights, or post anything abusive, and we can change or remove a name that does.

Acceptable use

  • Don't reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the app beyond what's allowed by law.
  • Don't attempt to access another player's account or another room's data.
  • Don't use the app to send unsolicited messages or to abuse or harass other players.
  • Don't interfere with the app's servers or the fairness of multiplayer rounds.

Ownership

Stick Math, its puzzles, artwork, logo, and design are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property law. Playing the app doesn't transfer any ownership to you. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app for its intended purpose, on a device you own or control, for as long as these terms remain in effect.

Disclaimers

Stick Math is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times, and we don't make any claim about mental, cognitive, or health benefits from playing it. To the extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, we won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, even if we've been advised of the possibility. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under applicable law.

Termination

You can stop using the app at any time, and can request deletion of your account as described in our Privacy Policy. We can suspend or terminate access to the app, including a specific account or multiplayer room, for a violation of these terms or for behavior that harms other players or the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the app will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where local law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

Changes to these terms

We can update these terms as the app changes, including once it launches publicly and if paid features are introduced. We'll update the effective date above when we do. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the revised terms.
